MacArthur Award winner and Broad Stage favorite Anna Deavere Smith returns to the Westside with a compelling new project that examines one of our country's most pressing issues. In Notes from the Field: Doing Time in Education, Ms. Smith turns her attention to "the school-to-prison pipeline" and performs striking portraits culled from interviews she conducted with more than 100 individuals across the nation, affected by the pipeline's devastating policies-capturing the dynamics of a rapidly shifting social issue through her trademark performance technique.
