"At a time when jazz piano prodigies are moving into the spotlight around the world, Gerald Clayton is showing all the signs of becoming one of the most significant young jazz artists to emerge in the Southland in recent years."
-Los Angeles Times
"Taylor Eigsti is the most amazing talent I've ever come across. Remember him."
-Dave Brubeck
In a rare and exciting first time collaboration, two of the finest up and coming jazz pianists in the world will come together for a night of improvised standards and originals.
A part of local jazz royalty, Gerald Clayton grew up under the guidance and tutelage of the famous Clayton Brothers. In a short amount of time, he has worked with famed trumpeters Roy Hardgrove and Clark Terry, collaborated with celebrated pianists such as Hank Jones, Mulgrew Miller and Benny Green and played on Diana Krall's "From This Moment On."
Taylor Eigsti was signed to Concord Records at the young age of 21 and has already toured the world many times over as a solo artist and sideman. He has been featured on the covers of Jazziz and Keyboard Magazine and made the Downbeat Critic's Poll two years in a row. Recently he was nominated for two Grammy awards (Best Instrumental Composition and Best Instrumental Solo). Like Clayton, Taylor has worked with a wide and impressive list of artists including Joshua Redman, Christian McBride and Frederica Von Stade.
Don't miss this chance to see two future giants of jazz in an intimate space.
